Janet Frost

Janet Frost is a former Chief Executive of the Health Research Authority.

Janet worked in the NHS for nearly 25 years before stepping down due to ill health in 2017. She has described her interest as research efficiency and using innovation to remove barriers to effective involvement and participation in health research. She was driven professionally by the need to improve the research environment and she now has her own patient and carer experiences to draw on.

Janet joined the DATA-CAN PPIE group in early 2020 and is also a member of the PathLAKE access committee.

She is an Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, was named as one of the Health Services Journal 50 Inspirational Women in 2013 and was awarded an OBE for services to health and social care research in the 2018 New Years Honours list.

Janet has two sons and lives with her partner and small dog in Maidenhead.
